JAMMU, June 10: A 35-year-old man drowned while bathing in a pond located at Baba Sidhgoria Shrine today.
The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Kumar son of Satpal of Salehar area.
A police official said Pradeep was bathing in the pond when he suddenly drowned.
He said the nearby villagers immediately took him to Sub-District Hospital in Bishnah, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival.
On receiving information, a team from Arnia Police Station reached the spot and started further investigation into the matter, said the police official.
