JAMMU, June 10: Laghu Udyog Bharati (LBU) today urged the Government to take swift action to address the challenges faced by the industrial sector in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
In a high-level meeting led by state president, Parveen Pargal, the organisation highlighted several pressing issues affecting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and urged for policy interventions to ensure the sector’s revival and growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Parveen Pargal reiterated Laghu Udyog Bharati’s long-standing commitment to the welfare of industrialists.
He said despite repeated appeals, many vital issues remain unresolved, which is hampering the progress of industries, especially MSMEs.
Pargal stressed the need for immediate Government attention to protect the future of these enterprises.
One key concern raised was about industrial units that made their initial investments before 30th September 2024. Many entrepreneurs had completed major formalities such as land acquisition, pollution clearance and project planning, but missed final application submission deadlines.
Pargal appealed for these units to be included under the incentive scheme, arguing that excluding them would be unjust and detrimental to the region’s industrial ecosystem.
He also urged the Government to extend the registration deadline under the New Central Sector Scheme by two years, up to 30th September 2026.
Pargal reaffirmed its support for MSMEs and appealed to the government to adopt fair, transparent and flexible policies.
The meeting was attended by Rajinder Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Ishant Gupta, Aagam Jain and Pranav Gupta.
