CHENANI, May 31: The historic one-day annual Baba Yug Mela was celebrated today at Yugdhar with religious fervour and sanctity.
The mela started early in the morning at 7 AM with the ‘Snan’ of Baba Yug Devta , followed by ‘Nav-grah pujan’ , ‘Havan’, ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ ‘Bhajan’ and ‘Kanjak Pujan’ . Devotees thronged to Yugdhar since early in the morning and large queues were seen for darshan of Baba Yug Devta .
The mela was inaugurated by the Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Chenani, accompanied by DDC Narsoo Subash Chander, Sukhbir Singh ( SDPO Chenani) and Mela Officer, BDO Sewna Manik Gupta Ex President MC Chenani .
On the occasion, a cultural programme was also organised in which famous Dogri artists Subash Brahmani & party , Ashok Sanasari & party and Susheel Sharma presented their Dogri folk songs and dance.
Every year, this mela is organized at Yugdhar by the Yugdhar Devsthan Development Trust, in collaboration with the administration.
