JAMMU, May 28: In a solemn and prestigious ceremony held at PGIMER Chandigarh, Prof Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal and Dean of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, was honoured for his outstanding and selfless service during the recent war-like situation in Jammu and Kashmir’s border regions.
The event, organized to honour medical teams who served in Jammu, Poonch and Rajouri during the crisis, witnessed participation from several medical professionals. Among them, Dr Ashutosh Gupta was commended for his exemplary leadership and coordination in responding to the emergency with swift and strategic medical intervention.
Under Dr Gupta’s leadership, multiple mobile medical teams were dispatched to the affected areas. He spearheaded the identification and preparation of specialized zones within GMC Jammu to deliver world-class medical, surgical, and diagnostic care to the injured and displaced from the border regions.
Speaking at the event, Dr Gupta dedicated the honour to his entire team-comprising faculty members, doctors, medical superintendents, and nursing and paramedical staff-who worked tirelessly and remained on call around the clock. He highlighted their collective effort in delivering comprehensive and high-quality care during the emergency.
“This recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of our entire medical fraternity who stood as a pillar of support during a critical time,” Dr Gupta said.
