Talwara migrants protest for Govt quarters like ones given to KPs

REASI, May 23: Aggrieved over the dilapidated condition of the Government quarters allotted to them, Talwara migrants held a protest demonstration here today.
Shouting slogans and carrying banners, protesters were demanding that they should be given flats like the ones given to Kashmiri Pandit migrants. They were also demanding other facilities like quota for their wards in the professional colleges on the pattern of Kashmiri migrants.

A large number of migrants, including women and children took part in the protest rally, organized under the banner of Talwara Migrants Action Committee and led by social activist Karan Singh and others.
They lamented that dilapidated condition of Government quarters provided to them, scarcity of drinking water and irregular power supply had made their life hellish.
The protesting migrants took out a rally and from Talwara and submitted a memorandum to the administration seeking immediate action on their demands.
