Jammu, May 20: As part of an ongoing outreach initiative by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, SP South, Ajay Sharma today delivered a thought-provoking and motivational lecture at MAM College, Jammu, focusing on three critical areas – the growing challenge of drug abuse among youth, the importance of character building, and the new criminal laws introduced by the Government of India.
Addressing students and faculty members, the SP South began by raising serious concerns over the menace of drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation. He highlighted the psychological, social, and legal consequences of substance use and urged students to remain vigilant, informed, and proactive in resisting peer pressure and promoting a drug-free campus and society.
Sharma delivered an inspiring message on character building, emphasizing that strong moral values, discipline, integrity, and a sense of responsibility form the foundation of a successful and meaningful life. He encouraged students to focus on holistic personal development – not just academic excellence, but also emotional resilience, ethical conduct, and social commitment.
The SP South also provided a comprehensive overview of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). He explained the key changes, their relevance to public safety, and the progressive shift toward victim-centric justice.
