AKHNOOR, May 20: To inspect the revered Sui Simbli Raghunath Ji Temple, Ajatshatru Singh (former Minister), along with Ranvijay Singh, both trustees of the J&K Dharmarth Trust, undertook a significant visit, here today.
Upon arrival, the dignitaries offered prayers at the sacred shrine and took a detailed round of the temple premises.
During the visit, they issued directions for essential repairs and renovations, aimed at conserving the architectural and spiritual essence of this historic temple.
A comprehensive review of the Trust’s land assets and other associated properties in the area was also conducted.
It is worth noting that the Sui Simbli Temple, also known as the Sui Simbli Raghunath Ji Temple, was constructed during the reign of Maharaja Gulab Singh.
The temple houses the sacred idols of Lord Ram, Lord Lakshman, Maa Sita and Hanuman Ji, alongside exquisite mural paintings inspired by the Ramayana, making it a cultural and religious landmark.
Reaffirming the Dharmarth Trust’s dedication to safeguarding J&K’s spiritual legacy, Ajatshatru Singh emphasized the importance of preserving the temple’s historical and religious significance for future generations.
Ranvijay Singh, while interacting with temple priests, underscored the need to educate every devotee about the temple’s rich history and spiritual relevance.
He stressed that such awareness is essential for promoting the cultural heritage of Jammu & Kashmir among the wider public.
The trustees were accompanied by Dr P S Pathania, president of the trust, Ashok Sharma and Varinder Singh Jamwal.
