KATHUA, May 17: The Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan today conducted two separate review meetings of Municipal Committee, Nagri-Parole and Municipal Committee, Lakhanpur.
The Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Surinder Mohan Sharma presided over both the meetings.
The Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Lakhanpur Prithvi Raj Sangra who is holding Additional charge of Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Nagri-Parole gave power point presentation on the physical and financial progress achieved under various schemes of Urban Development Department (UDD). He also apprised the meeting on the achievements registered under Pradhan Mantri, Awas Yojna Phase I and II.
In both the meetings, former Presidents and former councilors of Municipal Committee and prominent social workers of Lakhanpur and Nagri-Parole were present.
Former Presidents of Municipal Committee, Nagri viz Kul Bhushan Kumar, Anil Singh and Councilors namely Tarsem Saini, Surinder Andotra, Ram Krishan, Bimla Devi, Naresh Kumar and social activists Sat Paul Bhandari, Daleep Mehta, Ravi Andotra, Vijay Kumar, Pawan Kumar Pappu, Shobha Gupta, Niteshwar Andotra and Dr Gundeep Kumar were present in Nagri-Parole meeting.
Ravinder Kumar Sharma Shittu, Sushil Gupta, Surinder Singh and Darshan Singh, former Presidents of Municipal Committee Lakhanpur and former councilors namely Kaka Ram, Daleep Tak, were prominent among those who participated in the meeting at Lakhanpur.
The former Presidents, Councilors and social activists namely Suman Bala, Bhanu Partap Singh, Amit Sudan, Sunny Sharma and Jagdish Sharma gave suggestions to further improve working of Municipal bodies of Lakhanpur and Nagri – Parole.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan assured to take up the issue of shortage of manpower of both Municipal bodies with higher authorities.
He requested former Municipal Body representatives to help in achieving 100% registration of deserving PMAY- II beneficiaries so that all eligible houseless can get housing assistance.
He exhorted the officials to work with zeal and devotion so that benefits of Government schemes percolate down to the masses.
