KATRA, May 16: In its continuing drive to ensure the safety, security and proper regulation of activities on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi track, District Police Reasi booked an unauthorized individual posing as a pony porter.
The unauthorized porter (Pithu) was intercepted during routine patrolling at Ban Ganga Bridge near Geeta Mandir, last night around 2100 hours. On being asked, he failed to produce his license or authorization card.
According to Police, the individual identified himself as Mohd Rafiq, son of Noor Jamal, resident of Danga Kote, District Reasi. He admitted that he did not possess any authorized credentials and assumed he could operate undetected.
