SAMBA, May 15: Continuing its drive against the sale of illicit liquor in the district, Samba police has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 43 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana.
Police said acting on reliable information regarding sale of illicit liquor near Telli Basti Bari Brahmana, a police party of PS Bari Brahmana raided the shop of the accused person and seized 39 bottles of JK Special Whisky of 180 ml each and four bottles of JK Special Whisky of 750 ml each from his possession. The arrested shopkeeper has been identified as Sham Lal, son of Mangi of Madhya Pradesh A/P Telli Basti Bari Brahmana who was selling illicit liquor to general public from his shop, police said.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 73/2025 under Section 48(f) of the Excise Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
