RAJOURI, May 14: The police today apprehended four drug-peddlers at Dera-Ki-Gali (DKG) in Thannamandi tehsil and seized 18 grams of heroin from their possession.
The accused persons were travelling in a Hyundai i20 vehicle, bearing registration number JK12B-7073 when they were intercepted and searched by the police team.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sikander Khan, son of Yousaf Khan; Amir Khan, son of Ghulam Haider; Zubair Khan, son of Wazir Khan and Anjum Rafiq, son of Mohd Rafiq-all residents of Bufliaz, Surankote Sub Division in District Poonch.
The operation was carried out by a police team from Thannamandi, led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar, under the supervision of SDPO Thannamandi, Paropkar Singh.
A case FIR No. 69/2025 has been registered at Police Station Thannamandi under Sections 8, 21, 22, 25, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in this connection. Further investigation is in progress to trace the origin and network involved in the transportation and distribution of the seized contraband.
