SRINAGAR, May 14: The ‘Bharat Yatra’ organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) concluded today with a gathering at the historic Ghanta Ghar (Lal Chowk) in Srinagar.
The Yatra had commenced in Rajasthan and was held in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking at the event, Abu Waqar Bin Naqvi, a representative of the Manch, said the rally was aimed at honouring the security forces and commemorating those who lost their lives in the attack.
“What happened in Pahalgam left the entire country in pain and anger. Innocent people were killed in the name of religion,” Naqvi said.
“We began our journey from Jaipur, reached Delhi, and then travelled through Punjab, Haryana and Jammu, before finally reaching Pahalgam, where we paid our tribute.”
Naqvi added that today’s gathering was also to express gratitude to the armed forces.
“We are here to laud the forces who have made the country proud by giving a befitting reply to Pakistan,” he said.
Emphasising the need for public support to the armed forces, he remarked, “While soldiers are defending the borders, we cannot sit idle. We must take out rallies like this to boost their morale. They guard the borders-we must stand as soldiers within the country.”
He further said that organisations like the Manch exist to motivate people and instill a spirit of patriotism.
