JAMMU, May 13: A woman made an abortive attempt on her life at the Government Medical College Jammu here today.
Shakuntala Devi (40) wife of Nek Ram, whose residential details were not known immediately, was admitted in the hospital due to some ailments for the past some days, a police official said.
“Around 8:15 PM, she tried to jump off the third floor of the hospital building. But the visitors, who noticed her act, called the police and SDRF for help,” he said, adding, “After around 3 hours of efforts, she was prevented from committing the crime.”
The police official said that further investigations are underway to find out the reasons as to why she was making efforts to take her own life.
