SAMBA, May 6: Bioskool, an innovative idea dedicated to hands-on biology education, was formally launched today by the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, Prof Sanjeev Jain.
The launch marks a significant step in making biology more accessible to school students, blending education with engaging, practical learning experiences. With a strong focus on inclusivity, Bioskool aims to provide multilingual educational resources and interactive experiments designed to inspire young minds.
Speaking at the event, Dr Jain emphasized the importance of fostering scientific curiosity and hands-on experimentation among students. “Bioskool is a commendable initiative that bridges the gap between traditional learning and practical application, ensuring that students develop a deeper understanding of Life Sciences,” he stated. He also shared valuable insights and recommendations for enhancing Bioskool’s website and products, offering constructive suggestions to further enrich the platform’s educational impact.
The launch was done in the presence of Professor Rakesh Jha, President Institution Innovation Council; Dr Ashok Kumar, Head of the Department of Zoology Dr Narendra K Bairwa, Head Centre for Molecular Biology.
In the interaction with the team, led by Prof Swarkar Sharma, Department of Zoology and M Sc Biotechnology students Md Tausir Alam, Anushka Dobhal, Yatendra Pawar, Tripti Kumari, Aman Kant and Aditri Dixit, the team further shared Bioskool’s mission of making complex scientific concepts in biology approachable and engaging with their 100 unique biology experiments for classes 2 – 12.
The team informed that for wider reach-out after the launch, the products will be available online on their portal www.bioskool.in, as well as on various online e-commerce platforms as DIY (Do-IT-Yourself) kits.
