KSS organises socio-religious discourse on Shaivdarshan

JAMMU, May 5: A socio religious discourse on Kashmir Shivdarshan was today organised by Kashmiri Sahayak Samiti (KSS) at Trikuta Nagar here, today.
Sanjay Raina a well known scholar of Shastras was the main speaker who dwelt at length on the importance of Shaivdarshan and contribution of the great Shivacharya of Kashmir from Vasavgupta to Swami Ram Ji and Laxman Joo.
Raina said Shaivdarshan of Kashmir is the richest philosophy in Hindu dharma and it has given the unique name to Kashmir as well. He regretted that during the rule of invaders this rich philosophy suffered a lot and went in oblivion. Raina said Kashmiri Pandits being aborigines of Valley will always remain indebted to all three saints and philosophers.
Raina also highlighted the immense contribution of Acharya Abhinavgupta the Shiva incarnate whom he said was a great scholar which world has ever produced. He in detail described the non dualism philosophy of Kashmir propounded by great Shaivacharyas right from Vasavgupt. He also highlighted the contribution of Swami Vidhyadhar Ji and Swami Mehtabkak Ji the Guru of 20th century Shaivacharya Swami Laxman Joo.
Raina urged the younger generation to be linked to their rich cultural heritage and stressed on organising the lecturers on this rich philosophy of Kashmir in every nook and corner so that the younger generations feels proud of their rich past.
He said the contribution of Kashmiri Shaivachariyas to Darhsan Shastra (philosophy) of India is immense. Maintaining that the Acharya Vasavgupta who is considered the main proponent of this philosophy was initiated by Lord Shiva himself and later he propagated this philosophy among his disciples.
Surinder Munshi president of KSS presented a memento to Raina and Dr Dilip Pandita general secretary KSS while managing the proceedings elaborated the contribution of Shaivdarshan for survival of existing socio cultural traditions f Kashmiri Pandits under prevailing scenario.
Prominent among those who attended this function besides working and executive body members of KSS included B L Jalali, president Rainawari Action Committee, Badri Nath Sadhu , vice president KSS, K B Koul, ex president KSS, R K Kakroo social activist and various other eminent Nari Shaktis.
