SRINAGAR, May 4: A Hawan ceremony was held today at Lal Chowk in memory of the lives lost in the recent Pahalgam attack.
Organizers, Sanatan Sewa Nyas, said the ritual was conducted to pray for peace for the departed souls (atma shanti) and to send a strong message of unity, harmony, and safety for the people of Kashmir.

The event, according to the organizers, emphasized the spirit of brotherhood, support, and compassion that defines the people of Kashmir.
“It was a heartfelt gesture aimed at fostering peace, joy, and communal unity across the valley,” they said.
As per the organizers, both locals and visitors joined hands in prayer, “reinforcing that Kashmir is a land of resilience, kindness, and cultural harmony.”
The ‘Hawan’ was attended by notable personalities including Niraj Chauhan, a renowned Bollywood director, actor, and producer.
Also present at the event were prominent figures from various sectors, including Bollywood writer Neha Mahendra Soni, Shivom Mishra from Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jamesh Kalsariya, Akshya Giri, and Renu Sharma.
“All of them expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and the victims’ families.”
Organizers said that the presence of these personalities added strength to the message of national unity and emotional healing.
They conveyed that the event was not only about remembrance but also about promoting a peaceful future for Kashmir and its people-one filled with hope, safety, and shared humanity.
