UDHAMPUR, May 4: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the burning issues of the teaching fraternity and appealed the Education Minister and Additional Chief Secretary School Education to resolve them. He appealed the Education Minister for implementation of Govt Order No.469 Edu of 2014 Dated 25.06.2014 regarding inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits and transfer of the said cadre.
Highlighting the issue of release of MDM dues, Sharma said that teachers have managed ration from their own pockets for smooth functioning of Mid Day Meals but the funds were released only for 3 to 4 months in the year 2024-25 and still 7 to 8 months funds are pending.
He also appealed DSEJ for issuance of regularisation orders of ReTs who have completed 5 years ReT period and their files are lying with DSEJ. He also demanded DPC of Teachers to Masters to clear the backlog.
Besides, Vinod Sharma urged DSEJ to change the school timing from 10.00 am—- 4.00 pm to 9.00 am—- 3.00 pm in winter zones of Jammu division due to prevailing heat wave as same has already been done in Kashmir Province.
He also demanded benefit of Cash in Lieu in favour of teaching fraternity, conversion of Headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters, release of time barred arrears of Teachers/Masters, raising grade of teachers at par with their counter parts in other UTs, earned leave in favour of teachers engaged during summer/ winter vacation, filling up of vacant posts of Headmasters in headless schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Lekh Raj Parihar demanded the issuance of continuation order of Aayas cum Helpers in Government schools so that small kids may not suffer. He also demanded rationalisation of teachers in transparent manner.
Sham Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Ashok Seth, Pritam Goswami, Chain Singh, Bhushan Khajuria, Jagdish and others also spoke on the occasion.
