PARGWAL/SUCHETGARH, May 3: While eerie calm signaling fear and uncertainty has gripped majority of the Pakistan villages along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC), the residents of several forward villages on this side want Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government to take strongest ever military action against the neighboring country for Pahalgam carnage. Moreover, these border dwellers are not ready to leave their respective villages even after unprovoked firing from the Pakistan side and are determined to stand with Indian soldiers fearlessly.

“We are ready to rub shoulders with our Army in teaching Pakistan a lasting lesson. Pakistan is not a neighbor but a curse”, said 90 years old Sai Dass of Hamirpur Kona, the last Indian village in Pargwal sector of Jammu district while interacting with this visiting EXCELSIOR Correspondent, adding “for the horrendous act which Pakistan sponsored terrorists have done in Pahalgam the neighboring country deserves toughest ever action”.
Another village elder Suram Singh (78) said, “we want Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to further delay the military action which is to be taken against Pakistan. All the border dwellers are ready to face the situation boldly instead of leaving the villages like the people of other side have done”.
Similarly, Ratna Singh (90) said, “Pakistan only understands the language of force and not dialogue. It’s the appropriate time for teaching neighboring country a toughest ever lesson. The unprovoked firing from across the border indicates the level of frustration and fear among the Pakistani Rangers and Army”.
Not only elders even the youngsters are the supporters of taking strongest ever military action against Pakistan. “How long India will keep on bearing the Pulwama and Pahalgam like incidents. Teach Pakistan a lesson not to be forgotten”, said Gaurav Singh, a local social worker of Hamirpur Kona.
Villagers revealed that chilling transformation has swept across Pakistan’s border villages ever since the Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that befitting reply will be given to terrorists involved in Pahalgam massacre, their supporters and sympathizers.
“Earlier, there was daily movement of farmers in the fields and sounds of livestock on the Pakistan side but now mysterious calm has gripped their villages. Even the usual call to prayer from mosques has fallen silent”, the villagers said, adding “this signals fear, uncertainty and may be preparation of the neighboring country”.
The former Sarpanch of the area Dilip Singh said, “the activities of the farmers in the fields on the Pakistan side have come to grinding halt. It seems either the villagers have been completely shifted to other areas or they have been strictly warned not to venture out of their houses”.
Similar situation can also be witnessed on the other side of Suchetgarh border. While farmers on this side of border are busy harvesting crops, there is complete silence on the Pakistan side. Even in this sector the call to prayer is not being heard from the mosques in the Pakistan areas close to the International Border.
“The prevailing situation clearly reveals the level of panic on the other side”, the farmers having land near the border in Suchetgarh sector said, adding “the time for restraint is over, we urge the Government of India to give a strong and unforgettable response to the Pakistan for harboring terror”.
They further said, “as the blood of entire nation is boiling following the Pahalgam massacre the Central Government must respect the sentiments of people and give a big blow to neighboring country in all possible ways. We are ready to face any situation that erupts following India’s military action”, adding “this time, our forces should eye multiple targets while taking action against Pakistan so that nobody dares to raise head against India and its people”, the farmers of Suchetgarh border said.
