BSP seeks safe shelter for border people

JAMMU, May 3: In view of rising tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has demanded safe shelter for the border area people.
BSP’s J&K unit president, Darshan Rana, along with senior party leaders, on Saturday visited villages of border area like Arnia, Treva, Jaggowal, Kotli, Devipur and Treva Camp, and listened to the problems faced by the people and assured them that Bahujan Samaj Party is standing with the common people in this hour of crisis and the party will place these problems before the Government.
On this occasion, people told the visiting BSP team that the situation along the international border is completely normal at the moment and farmers are preparing for sowing paddy crop after completing the wheat harvesting work. People told that the cleaning of the bunkers is also going on due to the situation between the two countries.
Darshan Rana assured the people that in the times of crisis, BSP will stand with the border people. He said that all the Governments that have come to the Centre and the J&K had promised the people that they will be given five-marla plots at safe places, but till now the government have not taken any step in this direction.
In such a situation, the Government should build concrete houses for the border people at safer places, so that people can live there when the situation worsens. Condemning the terrorists attack in Pahalgam, he said that whenever the situation between the two countries worsens, it affects the border people and when there is shelling, people have to move to safer places. He demanded that the problems of the people should be solved on priority basis.
He appealed to the party workers to reach out to the people continuously in view of these circumstances and keep in touch with them so that every possible help can be provided to the them in any situation.
On this occasion, party general secretary Raja Singh, state secretary Tilak Raj Bhagat, district head Tarsem Lal along with other party leaders were also present.
