RAJOURI, Apr 29: The police arrested two drug-peddlers and recovered some quantity of heroin from their possession in Rajouri town today.
Official sources said that a police party from Police Station Rajouri, during naka at Salani bridge, intercepted a vehicle-Tempo bearing registration number JK14J-8541-coming from Jammu and heading toward Poonch.
During questioning they picked up two persons, identified as Mohd Razaq, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Chandimarh, Poonch and Javid Ahmed, son of Tufail Ahmed, resident of Surankote, Poonch. During personal search of these two individuals Police recovered 12 grams of a heroin from their possession.
In this regard an FIR No. 235/2025 has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Rajouri. Further investigation is ongoing to uncover potential links to a larger drug trafficking network
