JAMMU, Apr 28: Prof. Sunil Wanchoo, Dean Faculty of Sciences from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University while describing the fundamental similarities between human body and computers in terms of receipt of inputs and its processing, emphasised the need for continuous upgradation of knowledge for excelling at complex, nuanced tasks.
Prof Wanchoo was speaking at a function as chief guest on the Foundation Day of the Sharda Institute of Computer Education (SICE) here, today at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Anand Nagar Bohri.
Since its foundation in the year 2002, this occasion is celebrated every year with fervor and gaiety.
Dr. M. K. Bharat, Chairman, SSK presided over the function. The SICE is running diploma and certificate courses in computer education at Jammu and Jagti centres and has also started one centre in Kashmir.
Prof Wanchoo congratulated the students who completed their diploma in computers and were awarded certificates. He elaborated the need for value based education and imparting morality among the youth who shall be the role models to the next generation and highlighted the role of SICE in contributing its bit for the growth and development of the young students.
In his welcome address Dr. M. K. Bharat enumerated various programmes being run by SSK for various social, academic and cultural activities. On this occasion the students of SICE presented devotional and patriotic songs which were organised under the guidance of Rattan Lal Ganjoo, Suman, Sunil Kumar and Surinder Kumar.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sundeep Pandita, Director SICE, who provided an insight into the evolution of the institute and highlighted its achievements. The programme was conducted by Sakshi Raina a student of the Institute.
