JAMMU, Apr 27: The Brahman Sabha Channi Himmat today started three days long Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav in collaboration with various social, religious organizations.
During the grand religious function, held here today, the participants demanded declaration of Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav as a Gazetted holiday in the UT of J&K as several State Governments particularly Punjab and Haryana Government have already declared this day as a Gazetted holiday under Negotiable Instrument Act.
A resolution was also passed unanimously demanded declaration of a Gazetted holiday for Parshuram Janmotsav on April 29th 2025 instead of a restricted holiday claiming this move aims to benefit the Brahman community and inspire younger generations to follow Bhagwan Parshuram’s teachings.
Rajesh Sharma, patron of the Sabha, requested Omar Govt for declaring Gazetted holiday to give due importance to Parshuram Jayanti, a significant festival for the Brahmin community.
