JAMMU, Apr 27: Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan today called on Director General of Police (Prisons) and took up the issue of hampering of mobile connectivity in Jail road, Stadium road and areas falling in the vicinity of District Jail, Kathua.
He apprised DGP, Prisons that interruption of mobile network in habitations near District Jail Kathua is due to heavy duty mobile Jammers installed in the Jail. He said that due to this problem students, traders and general public are suffering.
He urged DGP to explore the possibility of a way out where people of affected areas get relief and the security of Jail is also not compromised.
The Director General of Police (Prisons) assured the Legislator to look into the issue and address it.
Later, MLA Kathua called on Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Chandra Shekhar Azad and took up the issue of opening of Bank branches in Khokhyal, Dilwan, Bijjit areas.
The Legislator apprised Regional Director, RBI that people of Khokhyal , Kirpal, Dilwan , Bijjit , Malooh and Chanotha villages have no Bank branch in their villages and have to travel 8-12 Kms to access a bank at Nagri or in Kathua. He also underlined the need for informing people on Jan Dhan Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna which provide life cover and financial security to the subscribers.
The Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Chandra Shekhar Azad appreciated the concern of MLA and assured to look into the raised issues.
