JAMMU, Apr 26: In a bid to foster a culture of cyber security and digital resilience, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur (Jammu), organized a cyber security awareness session today at the Convention Centre Auditorium on campus.
The session was led by Mohd Yaseen Kichloo, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Cyber Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), Jammu & Kashmir. Prof (Dr) Shakti Kumar Gupta, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Jammu, Vijaypur, also graced the event.
An expert in cyber crime investigation, Kichloo delivered a comprehensive and engaging talk, sensitizing participants to the growing threats in the digital domain and underscoring the need for adopting safe cyber practices. He highlighted the rising sophistication of cyber threats such as phishing attacks, identity theft, ransomware, financial frauds, and social engineering tactics. He emphasized the critical need for developing strong cyber hygiene habits at both personal and professional levels.
In an interactive format, Kichloo demonstrated real-world cyber fraud scenarios and guided participants through live activities on identifying phishing attempts, recognizing unsafe web links, and defending against online scams. He stressed the importance of practices like using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, securing personal data, and maintaining vigilance while sharing information online.
A notable highlight of the session was Kichloo’s discussion on the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the cyber security landscape. He urged attendees to stay informed about AI-driven technologies, emphasizing the importance of ethical use and awareness of associated risks.
The session saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members, administrative officers, IT teams, nursing staff, MBBS students, and BSc Nursing students. Participants actively engaged in the Q&A session, seeking practical advice on everyday cyber practices, preventive strategies, and institutional policies.
