IGP Jammu reviews border security in Akhnoor Sector

JAMMU, Apr 20: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, along with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) JSK Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, visited the border areas of Akhnoor Sector today to review the security grid.
The officers were accompanied by the SP Rural Jammu, senior BSF officials, and local police including the SHO and in-charge Police Post.
During the visit, BSF officials gave a detailed briefing on the current security measures and operational preparedness along the border.
The IGP directed local police to activate and strengthen Village Defence Groups (VDGs) and stressed the need for joint training exercises between VDGs and BSF personnel.
He also called for increased public outreach and better monitoring of possible infiltration routes.
The visit focused on boosting coordination among all security agencies to ensure better border management and overall security in the region.
