KATHUA, Apr 19: Dr Rameshwar Singh, MLA Bani constituency today visited the fire-affected families in Panchayat Sundharon of Bani area, where several residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire incident.
The MLA expressed deep concern and solidarity with the victims and assured full support to the affected families and took prompt steps to facilitate relief and rehabilitation.
During his visit, Dr Rameshwar spoke telephonically with Forest Minister Javed Rana, urging him to provide free timber for the reconstruction of damaged houses, ensuring swift assistance to those who lost their homes.
In an immediate relief gesture, Dr Rameshwar Singh assured to provide financial assistance of Rs 25,000 per family and also instructed the Tehsil Supply Office to provide free ration to all affected households to ease their hardship during this critical period.
The MLA also made a heartfelt appeal to the residents of Bani and nearby areas to come forward and extend all possible help to their fellow citizens in this difficult time.
Earlier, the MLA also met with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and requested immediate intervention to provide relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected families.
The CM assured Dr Rameshwar Singh that necessary funds will be allocated from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the victims recover and rebuild their lives.
