KATHUA, Apr 17: Dr. Rameshwar Singh, MLA Bani constituency, today met with Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and apprised him of the devastating fire incident that occurred in Panchayat Sundharon, Bani area of district Kathua.
The fire, which broke out recently, resulted in the complete destruction of four residential houses, leaving several families homeless and distressed.
Dr. Rameshwar Singh informed the Chief Minister about the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for Government intervention to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation to the affected families.
Responding to the concern raised by the MLA, the Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured full support from the Government.
The MLA informed that the Chief Minister has issued directions from his office to the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, to ensure prompt relief measures are taken on priority. The CM has instructed the DC office to provide necessary assistance to the victims and initiate the process of compensation for the losses incurred due to the fire.
The CM also assured that adequate funds from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would be allocated to support the affected families during this crisis, Dr Rameshwar said.
Dr. Rameshwar Singh complimented the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for his prompt response and compassionate approach toward the suffering of the fire-affected people. He also directed the local administration, including the tehsil office and the Station House Officer (SHO), Bani, to visit the site, assess the damage, and ensure that no affected family is left without support.
The MLA further assured the victims of his unwavering support and continuous follow-up with the concerned departments to ensure they receive timely aid. He appealed to the residents of Bani and nearby areas to come forward and extend all possible help to their fellow citizens in this hour of need, reinforcing the spirit of community and solidarity.
