JAMMU, Apr 16: In a proactive move to address public concerns ahead of the summer season, senior BJP leader and MLA East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, today conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing tube well projects in Aithem, Khanna Shargal, Toote Di Khui, and Sandhi areas on the outskirts of Jammu city.
Accompanied by the Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department, Rashpal Singh; Onkar Sharma, AEE PHE Rural Division Jammu; Vinod Raina, AEE PHE Bishnah; Gaurav Swaraj, AEE PHE Mechanical Rural Division and all concerned JEs, Sethi personally assessed the pace of work and sought a detailed briefing on the progress of the tube well installations. The officials assured the MLA that all efforts were being made to complete the works within the stipulated timelines.
Expressing concern over the rising complaints of water scarcity in various areas, Yudhvir Sethi emphasized the need for timely and efficient completion of all ongoing projects. “Summer is approaching fast and people have already started facing water-related challenges. It is the duty of the department to ensure regular and uninterrupted water supply to every household,” he stated.
MLA Sethi directed the Executive Engineer to intensify efforts and maintain constant monitoring so that no area remains deprived of essential drinking water. He further urged the officials to remain available on the ground and ensure swift redressal of grievances from the public.
The senior BJP leader added that the public representatives and officials must work in synergy to ensure that the benefits of centrally-sponsored schemes reach the grassroots. He reiterated his commitment to personally monitor development works in his constituency and ensure that basic amenities like drinking water are made available to every citizen without delay.
