9 arrested for attacking police in Balole Khad

JAMMU, Apr 16: Tightening its noose on narcotic smugglers, drug peddlers and bovine smugglers, Samba and Jammu Police in their separate operations today raided two locations of narcotic and bovine smugglers in Bari Brahmana and Bishnah.
While Samba police arrested nine persons from Balole Khad in connection with murderous attack on Police team during night of April 9, Jammu police demolished the house of Lahu Gujar the king pin of narcotics and bovine smuggling at Bishnah.
Police said a team of Bari Brahmana police headed by DySP, Bari Brahmana, Pardeep Singh Sain raided the Gujar Basti in Balole Nallah, Bari Brahmana today and arrested nine persons including three women responsible for murderous attack on police party of Bari Brahmana on April 9 who had raided the area to arrest drug peddlers.
It may be recalled that during the raid on April 9 night inhabitants of Gujar Basti attacked police party with stones and bricks in which three police personnel including Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana, Pushpinder Singh, PSI Abrar ul Haq and Selection Grade Constable , Swarn Kumar were seriously injured. The trio are undergoing treatment and have not recovered till date, police said.
Police also dismantled the house of Lohu Gujar alias Gulzar Ahmed king pin of narcotic and bovine smugglers in Bishnah. However the Lohu Gujar was not present in the area and no resistance was shown by any one.
A team of Bari Brahmana Police headed by DySP Bari Brahmana, raided the Balole Khad, Gujar Basti in the area and arrested nine culprits including three women who were involved in attack on Police team. Some vehicles were also seized by police in the area.
Police said Lahu Gujar is involved in various cases registered in Police Station Bishnah and he was also involved in recent attack on police team at Balole Khad.
Police said cases for attempt to murder and assault on police party were registered against them. Police has also launched a man hunt to arrest Lahu Gujar.
