Malis-Chowkidars demand release of wages

JAMMU, Apr 15: The Malis (gardeners) cum Chowkidars (watchmen) working under Rural Development Department (RDD) here today staged a protest demonstration under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Daily Wagers Sangharsh Samiti.
The protesters were demanding release of their pending wages.
Talking to reporters, one of the protesters informed that they gave their lands for the job and were working with RDD for the last 22 years without wages.
The protesters were raising slogans against the RDD Director and claimed that he was not forwarding their files to the concerned Minister due to which their issues are not being resolved.
They were also holding placards with demands of release of their pending wages written on them.
The protesters said if their demand of release of pending wages is not met by April 30, 2025 then they will start no work protest.
