JAMMU, Apr 14: Various Kashmiri Pandit organisations and socio-political activists have expressed concern over delay in payment of cash relief for the month of March to displaced Pandits.
In their separate statements the senior KP leader M K Yogi, socio political activist, Vinod Pandit and Sanjay Dhar and Chairman Jagti Migrants Welfare Movement, Sunil Pandita have said though half of April has passed away the relief holders have not been paid the relief for the month of March till date.
In an appeal to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, they appealed him to issue directives to concerned zonal officers to release the monthly cash relief to migrants who are totally dependent on the cash doles from the Government as they have no other source of income to make their both ends meet.
They said that the relief holders are unable to get their wards admitted in new classes as they are unable to pay the dues due to non payment of relief by Government. Under these circumstances maximum relief holders are hard pressed as non payment of cash relief by Government has added to their woes. They said despite many pleas to concerned authorities no steps have been taken for payment of cash relief to the migrants which has led to a lot of resentment among them.
Seeking immediate intervention of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in the matter, the KP leaders said in the event of further delay they will be forced to come to streets.
