JAMMU, Apr 12: BJP strongly condemned the recent attack on a police party by drug (chitta) peddlers in the Balole Khud area of Bari Brahmna.
Taking serious exception to it, the BJP spokesperson, Dr Abhijeet Jasrotia demanded stern action under law against the drug mafia which is spoiling the future of the youth in J&K.
Jasrotia accompanied by Dr. Tahir Chowdhury and Balbir Ram Rattan, other spokespersons of the party appealed the public to stand against the drug mafia in the larger interests of the society and youth of J&K.
Jasrotia lauded the bravery of the injured police officers-SHO Pushpinder Singh, SI Abrar Mirza, and Head Constable, Abdul Gani-who fought valiantly despite sustaining injuries. He emphasized that the police team acted purely in public interest, putting duty above all else, and fighting to save the youth from the clutches of drugs.
Jasrotia called on parents to remain vigilant about the activities of their children and protect them from falling prey to this growing menace. He urged school teachers to dedicate at least five minutes in every class to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug addiction.
