AIIMS Vijaypur wins CIDC Vishwakarma Award for Best Construction Project

JAMMU, Apr 12: In a moment of immense pride for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, the AIIMS Jammu Hospital Complex at Vijaypur has been honoured with the ‘Achievement Award for Best Construction Projects’ at the 16th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2025, held in New Delhi.
The Award was presented to Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Limited (ACIL), the firm responsible for executing the ambitious healthcare infrastructure project. Organized by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), established by the Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog) and the Indian construction industry in 1996, the Vishwakarma Awards are among the most prestigious recognitions in India’s construction sector.
The AIIMS Jammu Hospital Complex was recognized as a national model of excellence in infrastructure development, highlighting its state-of-the-art construction, sustainable practices, and commitment to worker safety.
Receiving the award on behalf of ACIL, Balvinder Kumar Sharma, General Manager (Projects), represented the collaborative success of the Institution and the construction agency.
AIIMS Vijaypur has already garnered multiple accolades prior to this recognition, including ‘Certificate of Merit’ at the CE & CR Awards 2024 for Sustainable Green Construction Technologies, Green Construction Footprint Award for Health and Safety of Construction Workers, recognition for achieving 28 million safe manhours during the hospital and academic campus construction and ‘Best Project Manager of the Year’ awarded to the AIIMS Jammu Project In-Charge.
