JAMMU, Apr 8: Rich tribute were paid to Pt Krishan Lal Verma, an eminent Tabla Maestro during a programme organized by Verma Gharana, here today.
The event was organized by his son Neeraj Verma, who is also a reputed Tabla artist.
Ghulam Abbas, Director, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), J&K and Ladakh was the Chief Guest of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Abbas stated that the best tribute to artists is to take forward their legacy through young generation.
He said artists never die but they live forever through their art
Dr Anupriya Sachar, conducted proceedings of the event.
She read out a detailed paper on the life and work of K L Verma.
The programme began with various disciples (Vasu Partap Singh, Samdeep Singh, Sehajdeep Singh, Aditya Saraf and Adhiraj) of Neeraj Verma, followed by a vocal recital by Vidushi Jasmeet Kour.
Shama Verma, Seema Verma, Sapna Verma, Pankaj Verma, Shovit Verma, Akarshit Verma, Utishth Verma and Jaisnavi Verma also graced the occasion.
