BHADERWAH, Apr 6: Acting swiftly after recent heavy snowfall, the 118 RCC of Border Roads Organization (BRO) cleared the snow from Bhaderwah-Pathankot National Highway (NH) making Bhaderwah-Basohli-Pathankot NH functional for vehicular traffic. The road passes through famous tourist destination Guldanda.
In a communication issued in this regard, the BRO stated that strategic snow clearance operation was aimed to facilitate the seamless movement of vehicular traffic along this vital link connecting J&K with Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Gorav Tiwari, OC 118 RCC/BRO said: “This proactive measure by BRO exemplifies its tireless efforts in maintaining crucial road infrastructure, especially during adverse weather conditions.”
According to BRO, with the clearance of this stretch of NH, medical and other facilities have become easily available to a large population that was disconnected due to recent heavy snowfall.
“The whole exercise was carried out under the guidance and supervision of Commander 35 BRTF Udhampur, S.K Singh,” Tiwari maintained.
Expressing gratitude to BRO, Jeet Singh Manhas, a resident of Nalthi Bhaderwah said: “The action of BRO has demonstrated its unwavering dedication by promptly clearing the snow on Bhaderwah Pathankot NH giving a sigh of relief to the people who were cut off from rest of the world.”
To make Bhaderwah Doda Highway safe for vehicular traffic in slippery conditions at various frozen spots, BRO officials sprinkled salt on the road.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh extended gratitude to BRO for clearing snow from Bhaderwah-Pathankot NH in record time.
