A statement said that the case, registered under FIR number 01/2025 under relevant Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended in 2018), followed a secret verification by ACB Rajouri.
It said the inquiry revealed that Chowdhary, who served as Sarpanch in 2011 and BDC Chairman from 2019 to 2023, amassed wealth worth crores.
“His assets include multiple houses, land plots, shops, luxury vehicles, and other properties, some of which are registered in the names of his family members,” the statement said.
After registering the case, ACB, along with local police and magistrates, conducted searches at his premises and seized incriminating record.
“The seized documents will undergo further scrutiny as part of the investigation,” an ACB official said.
