JAMMU, Apr 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued fresh guidelines for the reimbursement of trap money seized in corruption cases by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
According to a Government order, the trap money provided by complainants will be reimbursed in deserving cases, subject to thorough verification and approval from the Director, ACB, J&K.
The order further said that complainants must submit a written application to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) concerned, ensuring due process is followed.
“The release of funds will be considered at least two months after the trap or once charges are framed against the accused, whichever is earlier,” the order said.
The order also emphasized maintaining the chain of custody and evidentiary value of the money.
