Srinagar, Apr 1: One person died and four were injured when a speedy car lost control near Navyug Tunnel in Qazigund, Kulgam district.
An official said that a speedy vehicle lost control and crashed into a temporary police structure.
The vehicle, a Hector bearing registration number JK01 AL-0707, collided with a divider, causing severe damage and leading to the injuries of multiple individuals, including police personnel.
One person died and four others, including one police officer (SPO Showkat AH of Police Post Navyug Tunnel), sustained serious injuries. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, with their condition reported as critical.
The accident occurred when the vehicle, traveling from Jammu, lost control due to overspeeding and struck the police structure. Immediate police and medical teams arrived at the site, and the injured were swiftly transported to the hospital for further medical care.
The deceased has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Hameed Wani, a resident of Heer Pora, Shopian.
The injured have been dentified as Irshad Ahmad Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Dalal, Umar Bashir Najar, and Special Police Officer Showkat Ahmad.
