POONCH, Mar 28: One person died while four others were injured when a Tata-Mobile vehicle met with an accident in Barachar area of Tehsil Mandi in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that at about 4 PM in the evening, the vehicle was on its way from Mandi to Barachar when it met with an accident. The locals shifted all the four injured people to Sub District Hospital Mandi, where one was declared brought dead.
Block Medical Officer Mandi, Dr. Rayaz Jan identified the deceased as Rafiq Sofi (50), resident of Barachar. He said that one child had minor injuries who was shifted to Poonch after initial treatment while two other persons with serious injuries were also later shifted to Poonch.
The injured were identified as Zakir Hussain Shah, Babar Hussian Shah and Burhan Hussain Shah.
Medical superintendent DH Poonch, Dr Nusrat Bhatti said that the child is stable, while two other persons with head and spine injuries were further referred to GMC Rajouri.
