SRINAGAR, Mar 26: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, chaired a high-level meeting today with representatives of the Administration to assess the preparations for the upcoming religious occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr, Juma-tul-Vida, and Lailat-ul-Qadr.
The meeting focused on formulating a comprehensive and coordinated facilitation plan to ensure the seamless organization of religious activities at shrines and mosques during these significant festival days.
During the discussions, Dr Andrabi emphasized the need for meticulous planning and interdepartmental coordination to prevent any inconvenience to the public. She directed the Waqf Board management to collaborate closely with all concerned departments, ensuring the effective implementation of the facilitation plan.
Stressing the importance of collective efforts, she remarked, “Our belief in cooperation has led to successful management in the past, and we remain committed to providing a flawless facilitation system for the public during these special days. Public cooperation is our strength.”
Expressing gratitude to the heads of various departments for their unwavering support, Dr Andrabi acknowledged their contribution in making the festival management efficient and smooth. She extended her heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of Juma-tul-Vida and Shab-e-Qadr, reiterating the Waqf Board’s commitment to serving the community.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Umer Shah, Senior Superintendent of Police HQ; Hilal Khalik, SP Hazratbal; Peer Zahoor, SP Security; and Zubair Ahmad, Tehsildar. Additionally, the Executive Magistrate of the J&K Waqf Board and the EXEN of the Board also participated in the meeting.
Other officials present included Mohammad Yousuf, AEE Jal Shakti; Khurshid Ahmad, AEE KPDCL; Mohammad Shabir Akhoon, EXEN KPDCL Division 4th; Peer Salim, AEE LCMA; Fasil Khan, DYSP SDRF; Abdul Rashid, Medical Officer Hazratbal; and Ghulam Mustafa Rather, Sanitary Officer.
