HC issues warrant against DC Budgam, Comm Secy SWD

Srinagar, June 9: High Court today issued bailable warrant against Deputy Commissioner Budgam and Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department for disobeying the court direction of filing the statement of facts in a contempt petition.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magray directed bailable warrants should be issued against DC Budgam and Commissioner Secretary SWD by coercive method.
He directed the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir to execute the warrants and said incase IGP fails, he shall remain present on next date.
The court was hearing a contempt petition filed by advocate Nazir Ahmad Beigh on behalf of three temporary engaged persons in Social Welfare Department whose earned wages have been withheld by the department.
Earlier, the court had directed the respondents to release the legitimate earned wages of the petitioners but the officials failed to obey the court.
