Appoint Chairman, members of 8th Pay Commission: NMC

JAMMU, Mar 11: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has demanded appointment of Chairman and other members of 8th Pay Commission, constitution of which was approved by the Union Cabinet recently.
Addressing a meeting of NMC workers here today NMC president, Subash Shastri said, “Since the due date for implementation of 8th Pay Commission is January 1, 2026, it is hoped that the Commission will complete its report within given time frame, so that the benefits of 8th Pay Commission could reach the beneficiaries from January 2026.”
He said that notification for the appointment of Chairman and other member of 8th Pay Commission is need of the hour.
The NMC leader also demanded 20 per cent interim relief for Centre and State Government employees and pensioners till the implementation of 8th Pay Commission.
He also demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme.
His other demands remained release of 18 months’ pending DA arrears and regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years of service in March, 2024.
Shastri further demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs. 1000 per month.
Rajan Babu, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ram Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Birbal and others were also present in the meeting.
