5 bovines rescued

UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Foiling a bovine smuggling attempt at Tikri on Sunday, Police rescued five bovines even as the smugger managed to escape.
A team from Police Post Tikri, while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka Point Tikri, intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02CR-5342. Upon noticing the police, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot.
During checking, five bovines were found cruelly tied with ropes inside the vehicle, being transported illegally without valid permission.
All the rescued bovines were shifted to a safer place and the vehicle was seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 39/2025 under section 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
