PHE team visits Trikuta Nagar, listens water related issues

JAMMU, Mar 9: A team of PHE headed by SE PHE including Executive Engineer and AEE here met Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) office bearers and listened grievances related to drinking water supply in Trikuta Nagar Colony.
A handout claimed that the visit followed directions by MLA Bahu, Ch Vikram Randhawa and CE PHE Jammu, Vikas Sharma.
While interacting with the visiting team, Rajinder P. Kakkar, president TNWS presented facts regarding drinking water supply in Trikuta Nagar.
He also informed that Rs. 200 crore was sanctioned for up-gradation of 65 tube wells and 21 new tube wells in the area few years back after intervention of the then Principal Secretary Revenue, Shaleen Kabra but no action was seen on the ground so far.
The SE PHE directed the Executive Engineer to identify the land for new tube well and submit the project report within a week.
The handout of TNWS claimed that AEE PHE has ensured 45 minute water supply in morning and in the evening. The SE also informed that PHE Department will also supply the drinking water at subsidised rates for small tanker at Rs. 300 and for big tanker at Rs. 600 from this year.
The Executive Engineer assured uninterrupted water supply during this summer in the Colony.
