JAMMU, Mar 8: In a remarkable display of surgical expertise, Dr Ranjit Singh, renowned Joint Replacement Surgeon, has successfully performed a rare revision knee replacement surgery on a patient, Anita Gupta.
The patient, who had undergone bilateral knee replacement 15 years ago, required revision surgery due to loosening of the knee implant. Despite consulting several surgeons, Gupta was unable to find one who could assure her of satisfactory results, given the complexities of the surgery and her age-related health issues, including hypertension and diabetes.
Dr Ranjit Singh, however, accepted the challenge and performed the surgery with precision, completing the left knee revision TKR in 2018 and the right knee revision recently. The surgery, which typically takes three hours, was completed within one hour, minimizing the risk of complications such as major blood loss, knee bone fracture and infection.
