JAMMU, June 6: Demanding immediate opening of PG Hostel for the community students, members of Gujjar Bakerwal Students Front staged a demonstration at Jammu University, here today.
Led by GBSF State president Nasib Ali, the protesting students raised slogans against the Gujjar Bakerwal State Advisory Board Vice Chairman and also torched an effigy. They held the Vice Chairman responsible for unprecedented delay in opening of the hostel, which has already been sanctioned by the Government five years back.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Azhar Majid, Iftakhar Ahmed Chowdhary and others who stressed that the Government should take necessary action over the hostel issue.
They also threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike if no action is taken on their demand.
