Schools to reopen in Kashmir on March 7

SRINAGAR, Feb 28: Government today extended winter vacation in all the schools across Kashmir due to wet weather conditions.

The Minister for Education Minister Sakina Itoo posted on X that in response to the prevailing weather conditions in the Valley, schools up to higher secondary level will now reopen on 7th March.
In an order, issued by the Department of Education, it has been said that the winter vacations for all Government and Private Schools up to higher secondary level of Kashmir Division and winter zone(s) of Jammu Division are hereby extended up to March 6.
“The schools shall now reopen on March 7th, instead of March 1,” the order read.
The decision to extend the vacations follows three days of snowfall and rainfall across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The MeT has forecast the wet weather for the middle of next week.
