JAMMU, Feb 26: The five-day training programme on “Capacity Building of Farm Women though training on Animal Husbandry Management Practices” concluded at Division of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST- Jammu.
LUPIN Human Welfare and Research Foundation (LHWRF), Jammu had sponsored the training programme for farm women under their CSR initiative and it was organized under the guidance and leadership of Dr BN Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu
Dr Rajesh Katoch, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, RS Pura was the chief guest during the valedictory session of the training programme. In his address, he asked the trainees about their experience and learning during the five days of training.
Dr Pranav Kumar, Training Coordinator of the programme and Associate Professor, Division of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education informed the gathering that trainees were exposed to clinical visits, various practical demonstrations such as vermicompost making, cow dung log making, value addition of milk, natural farming preparations/concoctions, etc in such a way that they could start their own enterprise as well as promote organic/natural farming.
Ujjwal Kumar, Head, Quality Control and Atul Sharma of Lupin Limited Jammu also spoke and interacted with trainees.
During the valedictory session of the training programme, a training manual in Hindi on “Pashupalan Ke Madhyam se Krishak Mahilayon ka Kshamta Nirmaan” was released by the dignitaries and distributed among the participants. Various inputs (such as milk can, mineral mixture, dewormer etc) were also distributed among the trainees for scientific and hygienic rearing of dairy animals at farm level.
The proceedings of the programme were coordinated by Dr Anna Singh, Dr Anny Kujur and Dr Veerta Bhagat, post graduate students of VAHEE Division.
