JAMMU, Feb 25: Kanachak police have arrested four individuals in connection with an attempt to murder case reported in the area. The swift police action led to the apprehension of the accused and the recovery of the weapons used in the crime, including a toka, parthi and an iron rod.
The case was registered following a complaint by Shashi Sharma, wife of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Garkhal camp (currently residing in Sua Number 1). In her complaint, she alleged that her son, Arun Sharma, was brutally attacked on February 23 by four assailants identified as Sham Singh son of Balbir Singh, Davinder Singh son of Om Parkash Singh, Sanjay Singh son of Ranjeet Singh and Gopal Das son of Karam Dass, all residents of Garkhal.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to GMC Jammu for medical treatment. Based on the complaint, an FIR (Number 33/2025) was registered under Sections 109, 115(2) 3(5) BNS, and 4/25 Arms Act. A dedicated police team was formed to investigate the matter, leading to multiple raids and the subsequent arrest of all four accused.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the attack, after which the weapons used in the crime were recovered. Further investigation into the case is underway.
