USTA to hold protest demonstration

JAMMU, June 4: A meeting of working committee of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) was held under the chairmanship of Hari Singh, provincial president, here today.
In the meeting members showed strong resentment and anguish over the callous attitude of State Government for not redressing just and genuine demands of teaching community.
While speaking on the occasion USTA president strongly criticized the authorities at the helm of affairs for not releasing salary continuously for last more than six month in favour of the teachers working under SSA scheme in the  State.
The other demands included selection grade for trained under graduate teachers, transfer policy for regularized ReT teachers and inclusion of 5 year period in their service record, implementation of transparent transfer policy and stop pick and choose transfer policy, transfer suitably masters and lecturers who have completed their tenure in far flung areas, leave enchancement at retirement for school teachers by protecting un-availed half pay leave as in vogue in the state of Haryana, enhance wages of ReT teachers from Rs 3000 to Rs 10000, DPC in favour of all categories of teachers after every six months, remove pay-parity in respect of teachers, enact Right of Education Bill in J&K, stop NPS and restore old pension scheme, grant muffasil allowance to teachers, fill all vacant posts of teachers in schools through recruitment, provide infrastructure in new primary schools and release 10 % DA pending from January 2014.
The meeting was attended by Rajeev Kumar, Banarsi Dass, Chemail Singh, Julfikar Ali Malik, Pardeep Singh, Mohd. Nisar, Sajad Mirza, Balwant Singh, Raj Kumar,  Kishori Lal, Hans Raj, Rattan Singh, Ram Dass, Madan Singh and Shanti Saroop.
